My name is Tat'yana Kincaid, I go by Tanya. I have my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University. It is known for leading innovation in holistic medicine and has a strong emphasis in treating the whole person by recognizing the connection between mind, body and spirit.
In my practice I draw from several modalities, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Depth Psychology are two of the main interventions I use. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an empirically based intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness principles along with commitment and behavior change. The intention is to live a life in which we are fully in contact with the present moment and moving towards our chosen values.
I also draw from Depth Psychology and internal family systems. In particular the use and power of stories and archetypes in our lives. The stories that we tell of our lives while being re-told can sometimes open up new perspectives that we hadn't seen before- altering our relationship to the story. From our own stories we can gain strength and inspiration for the next chapter.
I believe that all of us have the power to live a rich and meaningful life. It is easy to get our attention and life caught up in things that don't serve our values. The world pulls from all directions. By working together we can rediscover what a meaningful life looks like for you.
In my personal life I enjoy diving into projects that improve my quality of life. I am fascinated with our capacity to grow and discover new parts of ourselves and the world. I actively pursue this.
I appreciate interior design, and have been known to dable in furniture refinishing.
Otherwise, I'm like anyone else who enjoys a good netflix show and a whole lot of nothing.

"It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive."
