Burnout Therapy in Washington + Florida

With Tanya Kincaid

I've experienced my own burnout, and for over 12 years I've worked with people who are capable, driven, and used to pushing through.

At some point, that stops working.

You’re still showing up but something underneath has dropped out.

Does this sound like you?

You can't function the way you used to. You feel flat, tired, or disconnected even after rest.

Burnout often looks like pushing through while something inside has gone offline.

The drive is lower but the pressure to keep going hasn't changed.

Many people feel stuck between a part that wants rest and another that refuses to stop.

Even rest starts to feel like another thing you're failing at.

Clients see me when they experience:

  • Emotional exhaustion

  • Feeling flat

  • Loss of motivation

  • Social withdrawal

  • "What's the point" thoughts

  • Unrestful sleep

  • Overworking cycles

  • Feeling disconnected

This isn't failure. Your system has been running past its limits.

How Burnout Therapy With Me Works

Many of my clients are capable, driven, and used to operating at a high level: figuring things out, handling pressure, keeping things moving.

This work isn't about softening your edge. It's about helping you stop running on empty.

Burnout is often a conflict inside your system: one part is exhausted, another feels responsible for keeping everything going.

In therapy, we slow this conflict down so both sides can be seen instead of fighting each other. We go to what's underneath the conflict, and work directly with the parts carrying the pressure and the exhaustion.

We stay with them long enough for something to shift.

You might notice:

  • The pressure ease

  • Your body soften

  • The drive to keep pushing loses its intensity.

That's the moment burnout starts to change. Not by forcing rest, but by changing what's driving the cycle. Then we integrate that shift so your energy actually begins to restore.

Modalities I Use

Therapy with me is active and engaged. I interrupt patterns in real time so you can see what's actually happening — not just talk about it later.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): Helps identify internal conflict between pushing and exhausted parts.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Reconnects you to values instead of pressure.

  • Depth Psychology: Explores the deeper emotional patterns driving overthinking.

  • Somatic Therapy: Helps regulate the nervous system so your body is no longer stuck in alert mode.

Function Sustainably

Keep all your ambition without burning yourself out.

About Tanya Kincaid, LMHC

I work with burnout through a parts-based lens: helping you understand why pushing and shutting down are happening at the same time.

Sessions with me are direct, engaged, and highly attuned. Clients often tell me they feel more present and clear, and that things start to shift more quickly than they expected.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time trying to make sense of the people around me. I was fascinated by people, families, and the ways different environments shape us.

Today, I work with many clients who grew up in complex environments marked by family instability, substance use, rigid expectations, emotional unpredictability, or competing cultural values.

My role is helping you understand the patterns that once helped you adapt and decide which ones still belong in your life.
